Lactoferrin is an iron binding glycoprotein with various physiological activities, which is an indispensable and important nutrient in the growth and development of infants and young children. Due to its unique structure and biological functions, it plays an important role in combating pathogens and regulating immune function. The content of lactoferrin in the 9 second-stage infant formulas tested ranges from 78.7 mg/100g to 450 mg/100g. Among them, the highest content is Royal Meisu Jiaer Follower Formula (450 mg/100g), Lanzhen Follower Formula (336 mg/100g), and Devien Follower Formula (98.4 mg/100g). The content of lactoferrin in 10 three stage infant formulas ranges from 66.9 mg/100g to 465 mg/100g. Among them, the highest content is Royal Meisu Jiaer Preschool Formula (465 mg/100g), Lanzhen Preschool Formula (300 mg/100g), and Pingrun Preschool Formula (101 mg/100g).

Chen Wei, Deputy Director of Clinical Nutrition Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, said that lactoferrin has a certain anti-virus ability and is a broad-spectrum antibacterial substance, which can reduce the incidence of infection. The lactoferrin in infant formula milk powder makes the nutritional composition of the milk powder closer to that of breast milk, which is extremely important for the nutritional needs and growth and development of infants and young children. High lactoferrin content infant formula milk powder plays a more positive role in improving infant immune function and enhancing resistance, and has a significant effect on the occurrence of infant diarrhea, neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis, respiratory diseases, and neonatal sepsis.

Probiotics are a type of active microorganisms that are beneficial to the host, and lactic acid bacteria, as a type of probiotics, are often added to infant formula foods. Lactic acid bacteria refer to bacteria that produce organic acids, special enzyme systems, acid bacteria, and other substances through fermentation, and have special physiological functions. Among the 8 second-stage infant formulas tested this time, the addition of lactic acid bacteria mainly includes bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Among them, the ones with higher content are Changyi combination larger infant formula milk powder, Yangguang Aojia larger infant formula milk powder, and Guangming Ranch larger infant formula milk powder; Among the 7 three stage infant formula milk powders, the main additives of lactobacilli are bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. The higher content is Changyi Combination Infant Formula Milk Powder, Sunshine Aojia Infant Formula Milk Powder, and Guangming Ranch Infant Formula Milk Powder.

Yu Renwen, a director of the Beijing Nutrition Association, said, "When infants and young children have low immunity, there is an increased risk of illness. Through scientific feeding and appropriate selection of formula milk powder containing functional nutrients such as lactoferrin and probiotics, it can help enhance the immunity of infants and young children and prevent the occurrence of diseases." He suggested starting breastfeeding from 1 hour of birth, exclusively breastfeeding until two years old and above within 6 months, and adding complementary foods from 6 months old, Add at least 4 types of complementary foods, meet the minimum dietary frequency daily, and consume foods rich in iron.

Experts remind consumers to choose suitable products based on the physical reactions of infants and young children when consuming formula food. At the same time, they should pay attention to the following five aspects: purchase from the infant formula food section of a regular large supermarket; Try to choose brand products with high market awareness; Determine whether the product type is suitable for infants and young children of different ages; Verify whether the production license and formula registration information labeled on the product comply with regulations; Carefully check product labels, product packaging, product instructions, implementation standards, shelf life, and consumption methods. At the same time, combined with ones own economic conditions, do not blindly compare. When preparing infant formula milk powder, scientific attention should also be paid, and controlling the water temperature is particularly important. Brewing milk powder with 40 ℃ warm water can maintain nutrition and biological activity.
